It is all smiles and promises when the privatisation, but 20 years later when it all goes wrong we are stuck with a mess.

Think:
- Utilities: Surging costs to consumers, and the private companies making $Billions in profit (e.g. AGL $1,587 million for FY18, compared with $539 million in the previous year, and paid its boss $6.9M)
- Public Roads: Tollways handed to companies such as Transurban to manage for decades in return for helping fund new projects. . Transurban made $485M in profit in 2018, over double the previous year)
- Council Housing Estates in the U.K. privatised under Thatcherism and now being exposed for cheap shortcuts affecting safety and amenity, while inflation soars rampant with executive salaries
- Exploration companies extracting our natural resources and making massive profits under royalty arrangements. e.g. Australia provides 12% of natural gas on the worldwide market while local prices soar (and AGL makes a squid)
- And the list goes on: Prison staff, our government owned banks, and some involving public tragedies that I prefer not to mention out of respect of politicising them.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16724667138798991911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4662768362955610923.post-84320005249816959172017-11-01T22:18:19.488-07:002017-11-01T22:18:19.488-07:00thank you for this fantastic post, I am glad I fou...thank you for this fantastic post, I am glad I found this web site on yahoo.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4662768362955610923.post-2661145357674577802017-10-29T05:59:56.704-07:002017-10-29T05:59:56.704-07:00Thank you for sharing with us, I think this websit...Thank you for sharing with us, I think this website truly stands out :D.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4662768362955610923.post-77401549115114488542017-10-25T05:39:30.630-07:002017-10-25T05:39:30.630-07:00Great blog post of the stark contrast in division ...Great blog post of the stark contrast in division of class seen from the Grenfell Tower inferno. It is integral that our government wakes up and learns from this horrific tragedy. It has much too belatedly projected the issue of fire safety to the forefront of the NSW state government’s agenda. The government cannot continue to ignore the wellbeing of the vulnerable in search of capital gain and cost saving measures. Check out my blog post on the lessons to be learned.
